Wafer Rose Cake

Wafer paper flowers is the trend these days.  Its light, easier to make and has oh-so-delicate-looking translucent petals.  It is true their petals cannot be as realistic-looking as sugar paste ones but with proper curling and tweaking it can be very beautiful and natural looking too.  Love it love it!

My second paper flower - another peony

For my 3rd and 4th I tried making a big open rose and ranunculus....Stevi Auble way this time.  Her flowers has more depth and movement.  My first two are quite flat compared to hers.

Decided to use the new flowers on my first naked cake with sugar lace.  (Naked cake is cake without fondant....just cover with ganache).  Love my super sharp ganache finishing. Love my lace mat.  Love my flexible lace.  Actually i feel like a little girl playing with her dolls playing cooking!!!

Haha!!!  Please help me celebrate for taking my decorating skill to the next level!!!
